Jedi Temple is Closing

Rumor Jedi Academy Is Closing Not Completely True

Yesterday a rumor started circulating that the Jedi Academy is closing. Now Disney rumors come and they go. Some end up being at least partly true. Others turn out to be completely false.

The rumor about the Jedi Academy closing seemed very strange. After all, Disney is spending a lot of money creating Galaxy’s Edge at both Disneyland and Hollywood Studios. This is one of those rumors that turned out to be partly true.

Jedi Academy is closing at Disneyland

Let’s look at the bad news first. The Jedi Academy is closing at Disneyland.  According to the Orlando Journal (citing an unnamed Disney spokeswoman) the final performance of the Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple will be scheduled for November 3rd, 2018.

While disappointing this is not really surprising. Sure Disney is building a who new Star Wars land. But the Jedi Academy: Trials of the Temple is in Tomorrowland. Tomorrowland is on the opposite side of the park!

Hopefully the Academy is just closing so it can be moved to the rest of Galaxy Edge at the Black Spire Outpost. But Disney has not confirmed this.

So what about Star Tours: The Adventure Continues? It is in Tomorrowland too. I do not even have any good rumors on this one. There is a lot of speculation but it is all just guesses.

Jedi Academy is not closing at Hollywood Studios

The same unnamed spokeswoman who confirmed the closing at Disneyland let us know that the Jedi Academy will remain open at Hollywood Studios.

Of course this does not mean there may not be some changes prior to the opening of Galaxy’s Edge in late 2019. But it is at least good news for now.
