Disney World Height Requirements

Disney World Height Requirements

Disney World height requirements are something that parents live in fear of. They hate the idea that their little pirate or princess just cannot do everything at Disney World. Unfortunately there are certain attractions that little ones might have to wait a few more years to experience.

Of course Disney is not trying to ruin your child’s vacation. If there is a minimum height requirement there is a reason for it. No one wants your child to get hurt. Disney. Disney World height requirements are there to keep your kid safe. Cast members do not stand around waiting for your child to approach the Tower of Terror so they can ruin his day with the measuring stick. Please do not get mad at them! They have a job to do and they are trying to do it.

How Not To Break Your Child’s Heart

Of course no child wants to be turned away from an attraction. So how do you avoidan epic temper tantrum? One of the keys is knowing what your child can ride. If your kid is 36 inches tall there is no need to head for Expedition Everest. Just don’t do it! Don’t even get in the line!

And if you think your child is tall enough but the Cast Member says he is not? Don’t make a huge deal out of it. You have the opportunity to make things better or worse. Just say thanks and head on. Even if your child has ridden before they Cast Member with the measuring stick is the keeper of the keys and makes the decision. (Why could your kid ride it before but not now? Is she wearing different shoes? Did she ride in the morning and now it’s late? Rumor has it we all shrink a little as the day goes by. I’m not saying it’s true but it is a rumor.)

It is not as if there are not plenty of other things to do. We are talking Walt Disney World. There’s more to see than can ever be seen. More to do than can ever be done in a day. (Sorry didn’t mean to go all Lion King on you!) Just move along!

Don’t Even Think About It!

Of course some people think they can trick the system. They will get in line and argue with a Cast Member. Good luck with that.

Creative people have even been known to try and make their child taller. While there is nothing wrong with buying shoes with an extra big heel sometimes that is not enough. I have heard of (not mentioning names) people who may or may not have cut the soles off one pair of shoes and hot glues them to another. Word of advice: You do not want to hear the words these shoes have been modified and then shunted out of line.

So how do you know if your little princess is tall enough? Glad you asked! I have put together a little graphic for each park. Same them to your pinterest or just book mark this page. Then get out your tape measure and see what she is tall enough for. And if there is something she needs to grow into emphasize what she can ride not what she can’t! If an attraction isn’t listed than there is no height requirement. Yippie!

One final note,  you can ride the Tomorrowland Speedway at 32 inches but you have to be accompanied by someone who is at least 54 inches.
