Bog Iger, chairman and CEO of the Walt Disney Company, first announced that Star Wars was coming both Disneyland and Walt Disney World at the D23 Expo in August of 2015. He promised a unique and immersive experience but did not really give much in the way of detail. In fact he did not even give this new Star Wars land a name. In August of 2017 Bob Chapek,¬†chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, told us this new land will be called Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge but what else do we know about this new Star Wars land? Big News From D23 2017

Every two years Disney holds the D23 Exposition. It is an opportunity for Disney fans to get together and share their love of all things Disney. It is also a stage to make big announcements about what is coming soon to the Disney empire. The announcements cover everything from the parks to upcoming movies. This year, perhaps more than any other so far, there was great news for Disney fans but especially for Disney parks fans. If you are a Disney parks fan here are the big news from D23 2017! New Star Wars Guided Tour

Can’t wait for Star Wars Land to open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios or Disneyland? You are not alone. There are thousands of us Force sensitive types waiting¬†to travel to a galaxy far, far away. Disney knows this and is doing its best to keep that excitement alive. One of the ways Disney is doing that is by offering a New Star Wars Guided Tour.

In 2012 Disney purchased Lucas Films for about four billion dollars. That includes Star Wars. Since then Disney has been cashing in releasing two movies (The Force Awakens and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) and announcing plans to bring Star Wars to both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Of course it is going to take years to build those lands (there is still no official opening date) and this new Star Wars Guided tour is one way Disney is keeping the excitement alive (and helping recoup some of that four billion dollars.)
