Save Money at Disney-Water Park Fun

Save Money at Disney-Water Park Fun and More Option

Some people do not realize everything Walt Disney World has to offer. There is a lot more to Walt Disney World than the four theme parks. There are water parks, golf (both the real and the mini variety) and Disney Quest. Disney will be glad to upgrade your ticket to take take advantage of these options. But if your goal is to save money at Disney don’t do it just yet!

If you purchase your park tickets online Disney will first ask how many days you want. Then they will offer you the Park Hopper Upgrade (If you missed Grumpy’s thoughts on saving money on Park Hopper passes click here.) Next they offer the Water Park Fun and More Option.

What is the Water Park Fun and More Option

The Water Park Fun and More Option allows you one entrance into a select Disney attraction for each day on your ticket.  It costs $55 for both adults and children three and over. Disney does not discount the price for children three and over. Children under three are free.

The Water Park and Fun More Option covers admission/fees for the following:

  • Disney’s Blizzard Beach
  • Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon
  • Disneyquest Indoor Interactive Theme Park
  • ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex
  • Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course (A par 36, nine whole walking course)
  • Disney’s Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course (Before 4 p.m.)
  • Disney’s Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course (Before 4 p.m.)

If you purchase the Water Park Fun and More option you get one admission to any of the above listed attractions for each day on your base ticket. For example if you have a four day ticket you can visit Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, Disney Quest and play a round of golf at Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course.

Should You Buy the Water Park Fun And More Option?

To answer that question you need to know what your group is going to use it for. Are you going to the water parks one day? Are you going to play a round of golf at Oak Trail? Is it the miniature golf are you are interested in?

The costs for the activities included are listed below. Adult prices are listed first and then children ages 3-9.

  • Disneyquest- $40 and $35
  • Water Parks- $53 and $45
  • Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course -$75 (for all ages)
  • Disney’s Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course – $14 and $12
  • Disney’s Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course- $14 and $12

So now you have to do some math. Is it cheaper to pay $55 for the Water Park Fun and More Option or is it cheaper to pay individual admission?

To keep it simple lets forget the miniature golf. If you are just going to use it just one day at either the water parks or Disneyquest skip it. It’s cheaper to buy a single day admission (but not by much in some cases.) If you are going to use it more than once for them buy it. If you want to play a round of golf at Oak Trail buy it.

Going Deeper-Should You Visit The Water Parks At All?

It’s about to get controversial here but Grumpy wants to give you some things to think about before you decide to visit a water park or Disneyquest.

Grumpy has nothing against either of those options but if you are reading this article you are probably looking at how to save money at Disney. The Water Park Fun and More option sets you back $55 per ticket. If your park tickets are three days or more did you know you could probably add another day at the theme parks for only $10 more per ticket? If you didn’t know that you should read this.

Of course there is no universal right or wrong answer. Maybe you or your party really want to spend a day at Blizzard Beach. It’s your vacation not Grumpy’s. Spend it the way you like. If you do decide to spend a day at Blizzard Beach, and one day is all you want, please save a little money and just buy the individual admission ticket.
