Who wants to wait in long lines and push through crowds at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom? If that is you go ahead and skip this article but if you prefer short lines and low crowds keep reading . Disney After Hours is once again being offered in 2017.
So what is Disney After Hours? It is a limited time event that requires a special ticket for admission. The ticket is not cheap and not many (comparatively speaking) are sold. To know what guests who have attend in the past think be sure to read to the end of the article. There is a video with some interviews.
What is Disney After Hours
Disney After Hours debuted this past spring. This is not like Extra Magic Hours when everyone who is staying at a Disney Resort can enter the park. Disney has over 30,000 resort rooms and that means a lot of people can visit the Magic Kingdom during Extra Magic Hours.
Disney Extra Magic Hours is also more exclusive than parties like Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. One source I found said there may be as many as 30,000 tickets sold for any given party night. That is still a lot of people.
Disney Extra Magic Hours is better than both of those. According to my source there are only around 3,000 tickets sold for any given night. Some might say that still sounds like a lot of people but when you consider how big the Magic Kingdom is I say it sounds like a lot of fun. It is an opportunity to be in a nearly empty Magic Kingdom.
Dates and costs of Disney After Hours
Unfortunately that great opportunity comes at a cost. It costs $119 per person. There is no discount for children who are three or over. Children under three are still free.
The dates are also very limited. Disney After Hours will only be offered for the following dates: Jan. 20 and 27, February 2, 9 and 16, and March 2 and 9, 2017. When you purchase a ticket for this event you have to select a date. Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable.
What is included in Disney After Hours?
So what do you get for $119? You get shorter lines but where? According to Disney there are 25+ attractions available for this event. They include:
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
- Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
- Disney Princess Greetings at Princess Fairytale Hall
- Haunted Mansion
- “it’s a small world”
- Jungle Cruise
- Peter Pan’s Flight
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
- Space Mountain
- Splash Mountain
The price includes free refreshments. They are popcorn, ice cream novelties and select bottled drinks. Other refreshments will be available for purchase.
Disney Transportation will be running for up to for up to two hours after the event.
Is Disney After Hours Worth it?
That is something you have to judge for yourself. If you watch the video below it sure sounds like it. Of course Disney produced it so they might be a little biased but I have other non-Disney sources who agree. So if you have the money I would say yes it is. If I was going to be there on those dates I would sure consider it!
